A little something something...

The bad news is it's Monday. The good news is I have a little giveaway! I found these two mini pennant banners stashed in my bin from my craft show days. I'd love to share them with you! Giveaway! 2011 Sewing Calendar

A super surprise showed up the the mail the other day. I had completely spaced on some of my projects being in the new 2011 Sewing Calendar. Imagine my joy to see my bitty bug on the front flap! Okay, it's hidden in the corner of picture, but it's there. I know you were looking. A quick flip through and I spotted my fabric-covered beads, catnip toy and jingle mouse ornament. Fun! The other projects filling up the days are truly amazing--enough to keep you sewing all year long. This time they sent two, so I am giving one away. Just leave a comment below before the end of day Friday August 20th and I will use a random number generator to pick a commenter.

In other bits, I had the best time at Renegade. Sales were pretty good for us four gals and we had a blast just hanging out together. Everyone was so friendly and the booth designs were stunningly creative. Walking around and chatting with the 250+ vendors made me wish we could form our own crafty city and all be neighbors! 

The tablecloth is all a-wrinkle because I forgot mine at home. A big save--thanks to Jaymi's hubby and a pair of Amy's scissors. Not too shabby after all! Pics courtesy of Amy, too. Here's us in the photo booth at the end of the last day.

Breaking News. There's a pile up on the guestbed. Specifically, bunnies. Best be advised to take an alternate route or you may be stuck hugging them all day.

Apparently, me! Maybe now you'll have the "Candyman" song stuck in your head now, too. You have no idea how hard it was to get these bows to line up for me. Pesky little critters. Come see them (and me) at  Park Your Art this Saturday.

In the works..

Crafting and blogging has taken a back seat to my painting as of late. Sorry for the lack of posts! I dusted off the 'ol sewing machine this morning for a birthday party gift..I still love working with fabric. I'll be back to it. Actually I will HAVE to be back to it soon since I'll be vending at Renegade with my gals Jen, Jaymi and Amy. Yep, that's right. All four of us will be sharing a booth. Whew! It'll be a squeeze, so I've been trying to come up with creative ways to use my few feet! I found these stacking tables today at the thrift store. Kind of grody, but with a coat of paint, they'll be perfect to get some height for displaying. Big dilemma--paint them blue or white? The one area that has me stumped is displaying totes..any good ideas for sharing? I might have to resort to pinning them along the front of the table (where I would like to have my banner..). Hmm..things to think on.

Second Saturday

I wasn't going to post but since my friend Amy took such great pictures, I figured why not! Please pardon my super wrinkly tablecloth that's dragging all over the place. Sales were slow but with fun company, a yummy dinner and lots of laughter I didn't really mind so much. A lot of people took my card, stopped to chat..everyone seemed happy & ready for Spring. Now we just need the weather to agree with us!

Little Additions

 

New for the upcoming Park-Your-Art show this Saturday. Rag dolls (still need to work on pants and dresses!) and some fun fabric collages I've been playing around with. Fingers crossed the weather is warmer than last time!

Allo!

Finished up my new rag doll design! I wanted something that was a little less labor-intensive than the dolls that I've made in the past. And I wanted floppy hair instead of a felt toupee. So I streamlined my old pattern and made it more mass production friendly. I tend to get burned out quickly when mired in the little details. I love little details..but simple can be better.  I am looking forward to making a bunch of these gals (and guys, too!) for upcoming Second Saturday shows and my etsy shop.

Happy hump day! I'm reinstating my hump-day giveaway. My scrap bin is overflowing and I can't get the lid on!  If you're interested in a bunch of fun scrappies for Spring, please leave me a comment. Pieces will vary in size (nothing too small, nothing too big) color and pattern. They'll be neatly trimmed and ironed..'cause I'm ocd like that. Trust me, they'll be cute.
