Week wrap-up...

Hi and TGIF! It's been a bit of a challenging week around here, so I'm sorry but I don't have a quickie tutorial ready for you today. I won't go into details but it involves a 4-year old, 5 days of  "tummyaches" and running for the potty. Yeah, I know. STILL too much detail, right?

 But I do have a winner for the hedgie--it's Carrie! If you're Carrie, please zip me an e-mail with your addy and I'll get your hedgie on his way! He'll do a good job of keeping your mini-doxies company. A big thanks to every one who left a comment. I so enjoy "meeting" you via your own blogs.

Look who I found peeking out of my sewing basket the other day. He's a little lonely and looking for a new home. He likes sewing projects of all kinds and being stuck with pins. Strange, yes. Feel like Celebrating?

Today is my free pattern day on Pimpstitch! Hope you like my design. Plus, we have a nifty sidebar of the free patterns of the past two weeks. Next week's pattern will be from Tamie from Roxycraft. She let me have a little peek and let me tell ya, it's a cutie!  It's all a big stitchin' party leading up to our Grand Opening next week...so go check it out. Download them, use carbon transfer paper or a lightbox tracer to get them on your fabric and sew crazy. Get it? Go crazy? Sew crazy? The heat has gone to my head.

Once you have a little something sewn, feel free to post your pics to our Flickr group. We are anxious to see what people are doing with them!  Just don't forget to save some cake for me..

My computer went dark on Thursday evening and never came back. Time of death? 8:53 p.m. I'm hoping it will be up and at 'em soon. In the meantime, I'm using the hub's sad little laptop from work. My tgif quickie will have to wait until next week. I couldn't bear to post without a picture, but since I can't access mine, I thought I would share this new yummy fabric line from Heather Ross that's coming out this summer. Mermaids and octopi. And it's called Mendocino...which just happens to be one of my favorite places on this earth.

critter cha cha and humpday giveaway!

Hi there! Thank you for all the nice comments on my new crafting space. You guys are the best. I wish I could buy everyone a round of margaritas. Don't like them? That's okay. I'll drink yours. Well, after a few technical "glitches" (meaning me being not-so-bright and having to take all the pictures over again), my half dozen mice and bunnies have danced their way into my shop. They're looking for love in all the right places--namely your mailbox. They make the perfect little toy for chubby hands or to keep all your secrets (dirty or otherwise--they don't judge). Just don't give them to your pet...my friend Missy's chihuahua apparently has a thing for the lentils I use in their tushies to weigh them down. Dogs and lentils. Who knew.



I'm now doing the humpday giveaway every other week...so you're in luck!! This week's celebration of making it halfway is a tiny tote with a wee vintage-inspired patch. it's all good

I mentioned it a teensy bit yesterday, but I am very excited to be a part of the Pimpstitch team. Oooh..I think we need racing jackets. Satin ones. With initials on the front. NASCAR sponsorship, here we come!

The four of us--me, Missy, Tamie and Amy will each have our own little areas of the website where you can browse, purchase and download our original embroidery patterns. It's all about fun. We hope you agree! Plus, the kick-butt blog will be chock-a-block full of tutorials, tips and techniques. Right now, the blog is featuring a different designer each week so you can learn a little more about us. Just so you can fully grasp how loco we are.

The site will be going live sometime in June. Yikes! I've got to get drawing. The winner of the fab three buttons is bunny! If you're bunny, please let me know your addy so they will be on their way! humpday giveaway one day late..

Wednesday blew through our lives (literally), leaving all bits and sorts in my tangled hair. It didn't help that it was HOT wind. Which is kind of like some sweaty dude's breath on you all day long. Yuck. So if you happen upon some overheated, wet-pitted mom with red eyes and chapped lips losing her temper with her children, have mercy.

humpday giveaway! or why I hate point and shoots

I had my little linen tote ready to take pictures for Wednesday's giveaway. At which point the camera batteries died. During a moment of eco-friendly shopping, we have replaced most AA batteries in the house with rechargeable ones. Which is annoying only because there are never batteries available when you need them. A normal, sane person would buy more rechargeable batteries than needed at any given time. I'm neither. In the past, I have scavenged from assorted clocks, remotes and Leap Pads--desperate to find just one pair with enough juice to give me a decent picture. And then, just when you switch on the macro...beeep, beeep, beeep.
